Realtors and sellers need to be on guard for folks not having the ability to currently verify funds balances or provide pre-approval letters.
Most sellers of high-end homes have always wanted pre-qualification of buyers before showing their homes. And it is even more important in these times. If you are serious about looking for a home, any home, you need a pre-approval letter for a mortgage, or a verifiable proof of funds letter if you are paying cash. Don't be insulted by the requirement. All of us want to be protected and have a smooth transaction.
