- The bad real estate news you're hearing about on TV and in newspapers should not affect your decision to act if you are really needing and wanting to buy now.
- Home prices may still go a little lower, but as soon as they hit their low point, they will start going up rapidly, quickly wiping out any advantage you might gain by waiting.
- Right now, there is an unusually wide selection of properties to choose from, including those owned by people who are highly motivated to sell quickly.
- With so many potential buyers waiting, you have fewer people competing with you for the good properties on the market.
- When the upturn comes, those other buyers will be your competition, making your offer less attractive to those selling their homes.
- Financing is still available at all time low interest rates, but are sure to escalate when the market resumes at more normal levels. FHA & VA government backed loans are very attractive right now.
- Even if you SHOULD pay a little more than you would if you actually hit the "bottom" of the market, normal appreciation would make the difference irrelevant within a few short years.
